to are so full of crap...if you really wanted to help people you give what ever it is you want to give no strings attached. you have so many dos and don'ts about volunteering it is utterly impossible for people who have nothing to get your little 50 dollars toward a bill no your really think 50dollars towards bills of poor people is going to help? I have been where alot of these people are and let me tell you something good news for you these people don't have food proper clothing and many times really keep your 50 bucks and do your own volunterring and pay your bill...have you paid one bill yet??? Have not seen it!!!...I don't know if this all makes you feel good but try spending a little more time helping and a lot less attaching strings. You give with your heart and you get the is not your concern what the recipient does or does not do with what you gave...get a grip mister

ok, please look at my earlier posts for $50 towards a bill in exchange for 5 hours of volunteering. Is there a shelter or any organization near you that helps poor/homeless?

@everyday. I think you misunderstand me. Take the trouble to read carefully. You should always help friends and relatives. It is your duty. However, I will give the $50 if you help strangers at a shelter.

Honestly, not really hun. I have no vehicle, so that makes going anywhere pretty difficult. The only thing I ever do is use, and honestly I have been unable to do that either lately, since I am the one asking for help now. (school clothes for kids, etc) I commend you on you trying to help others hun- but unfortunatly I am unable to do this one. Good luck and I really hope someone takes you up on your offer. :)

@ember think flexibly.
Is there any other way you can help someone in need that can be verified and keeping it honest? What are your skills?
Do not help relatives or friends.
Preferably help someone worse off than you.

I hate to sound like I am coming up with excuses, (because honestly I am sure thats what this sounds like) But I have no neighbors. Nearest one is a little over a mile away. This is what sucks about living out in the country! If anything was to ever happen, no one could ever get here in time to help. Such is life though. Hopefully soon things will turn around for me. I will continue to be optimistic!

@ember. Perhaps A neighbor can drop you off at the bus drop?

haha, I live out in the country. 7 miles from the nearest bus stop. I am lucky if I can get out once a month to go grocery shopping LOL! There are a lot of things I would/could do if I didnt live so far out of the way. But, such is life!
